The Adversary of Being a Friend

People tend to give out their best to others,
to show importance and willingness to be a friend,
But in ignorance, while trying to be a part of them,
is it what they really want you to offer them...?
You care, you choose to love them,
you choose to fit yourself to them,
but, the truth is they don’t want you in their life...

The adversary of being a friend,
is presuming of having a mutual feeling with them…
Mutual feelings that end up in dismayed,
where you are the only one who thinks the same
When you choose to be the best person you could be to them,
where they don’t care and just neglect you in the end…
The best way is to weigh and ask… don’t assume that you’re their friend….

Eloquent. I have often pondered the differing balance of friendships.
