The Advent of Spring
THE ADVENT OF SPRING
Daffodils and Buttercups blooming in profusion
Robins hopping frantically across the lawn
Searching for worms without intrusion
Trees budding and blooming -- Winter is gone
Ah, the joy of breaking out the tools
Beginning the garden projects
Making sure to follow the rules
On each bag of plant food
Bulbs go here, shrubs go there
Tiny dwarf trees lying everywhere
Holes being dug for every plant
Crape Myrtles form a semi-circle
Lorapetalum make a great purple hedge
The grass on the driveway has a smooth edge
The sprinkler system is primed
The well will not run dry
I hope you get the idea
That I love being a gardener
Making God's Creation a tribute
To His Blessings on me
Yes, it's time to do Spring gardening
No greater therapy to be found
Than watching what you planted
As they all begin to break ground

For the contest sponsored by Tania Kitchin
I feel it should have received a higher score because it described the beauty of God's Creation which He designed for our pleasure.
