The Ache

Give me the heartache,
the tease,
and the tired gestures of love.
There's more to life than a hard on,
and even holding hands,
and even a perfect first kiss,
and I want to know it.
Give me the ache I desire,
because that ache is love,
really...
not this pretending,
this ambiguity.
Give me the ache,
I long to ache.
