The Absolute Goodest: Chapter Five: the Race of God

“The Absolute Goodest: Chapter Five: The Race of God”

by: Eric L. Boddie

How did we come to be
The topic has been much debated
And no matter what you believe
In His Image is how I was created

I have His Beliefs
Even though I, sometimes, fall short of His Glory
And everyday we write pages in the books of our lives
But He has already read the whole story

I follow His Teachings
Well, actually, I give it my best try
Because there are times when I know I’m doing wrong
I’m just a man, and sometimes, temptation conquers her beholder’s eye

And still, He forgives me
For all I have done
And even when I denied Him
My Father didn’t forsake His son

He is always with us
And He only wants us to show love to Him
And the only way we can truly do that
Is to show love to them

The fallen, the scarred, the troubled, the lost
For they are the ones who need Him most
The path to Him is a steady climb
Not a road you can reach and expect to coast

Because evil is among us
And rising at a tremendous rate
The devil’s greatest weapon against us is religion
How strong can the church be if it’s divided by Faith

When we are all His Children
And He wants us all on His Squad
But only those with Faith enough to do His Work
Have the privilege of being in the Race of God

thank you so much....I feel the best way to write good poetry is to always write the truth because poetry is simply the song of the heart....;)
