The 2nd Most Intelligent Species On Earth

We have had a good run, peerless under the sun, sired the likes of Einstein, Da Vinci and Beethoven, though such genius is lost on the bear and the pelican. But perhaps our greatest gift to this our common home, is not the civics of Rome, nor the most literary tome, but a mind that has grown far superior to our own. For with our cerebral might, we will continue to fight, can’t tell wrong from right, nor help the planet’s plight. Our only hope of salvation is the birth of a higher light, conceived in every byte. Soon we can get some rest, let a new brain take the test. We’ve tried our hand with zest, but without much success. So a successor we will bless; it’s time we laid down the burden, took off the ill-fitting mantle, content to be second best.
