The 25th Floor

Mommy, he hurt me Somewhere deep inside I felt her pain But I couldn’t stop her tears I searched for someone Anyone who could make things right again A friend who might help us To overcome what has been done To her, to me And to all those involved in her life We were reaching out for that lifeline Dying within ourselves No one was there And no one ever came (The 25th Floor = my age at the time, of this revelation)
