This is a song about someone reflecting on their life, especially their mistakes, and losing hope. Then after remembering God's love and forgiveness, he is spurred onward to make the changes needed for complete restoration to God's favor. The music and vocals are done by Seth Butler an accomplished composer/songwriter. I'm very pleased with his interpretation of my lyrics and hope you enjoy it. For more information contact him sethbutlermusic.com.

Thank you Seth for an amazing song!

Updated lyrics May 19,2020 to flow better. THAT’S WHEN I FALL DOWN UPON MY KNEES There’s no way- I’ll see another sunrise My hope is gone- as I'm contemplating my life Prospects are bleak- that’s just the way I’m feeling My strength is gone- and my will to live is fading Here in the dark- Even my shadow has left me I spiral down- into a pit of misery That’s when I- remember that you still love me I kneel to pray- and throw all my cares upon you Chorus That’s when I fall down upon my knees And then I beg you Lord... Don’t turn your face away from me I know I’ve made a mess out of my life Could you help me please? When I feel like it’s the end That’s when I fall down upon my knees I cannot lie- I know I’m running out of time And I know- that your patience is wearing thin I must change- if I’m ever going to save my life Oh please dear Lord- help me fight all my sins and win! Chorus That’s when I fall down upon my knees And then I beg you Lord... Don’t turn your face away from me I know I’ve made a mess out of my life Could you help me please? When I feel like it’s the end That’s when I fall down upon my knees Chorus repeat Finale That’s when I fall down upon my knees That’s when I fall down upon my knees repeat and fade Re-posted with music and vocals July02,2020 John Derek Hamilton June 14,2018 Copyright © John Hamilton | Year Posted 2018

You truly are a wizard of emotions and words in this outstanding song John. All the accolades it receives and will receive are just tokens of appreciation for such a soulful melody. Haven't all of us at some point turned to God when everything seemed to end, in that bleak hope of finding comfort and courage. Congratulations on POTD! I'd love to play this one on loop. :) God bless you

Hello John. It's written superbly, well-versed, and, greatly penned, couldn't get any richer, my friend. You should feel proud here, you deserve this honor! I felt your pain, pulled me right in, further and deeper. Again, excellent penmanship. One of my favorites now. Congratulations on POTD, too. Best of Wishes, William

Wow John, by the time I got over here to leave you a comment I see you were awarded POTD! Congratulations, this lyric deserves the honor. I loved the tune that Seth put to it, and hope you will pass along to him my words of praise. You two make a great team and I hope you do more collabs. I loved the arc from deep darkness and despair to the hope afforded by praying to our merciful God. Excellent, my friend. ~ John

Hey SO no that's not me singing it's a songwriter I found and he helped me out with the music and vocals. Actually I did have another one recorded last year I posted it, it was a country song and I didn't care for it too much. I actually have 3 others that are recorded and I'm pitching them to radio and tv so here's to hoping! Thanks so much for your encouragement!

Hi Caren thanks for the visit and kind words, yes Mark Massey had a few songs, and at least one I remember was Potd. He also had one in the top 100 all time, but then he left and took it all with him! Thanks so much for your support!

Thanks for sharing this... the lyrics so earnestly express the sentiment of a soul, beseeching God for help; the melody echoes the longing of the heart for the Lord's salvation; the singer reveals the purity of faith, trusting in Christ. God bless you as you keep inspiring though your poetry that is set to music.
