That's Me
It falls from my hands
and scatters all around
one by one I pick up each piece
my life comes together in this poem
Joys and laughter everywhere
but a little sorrow hides under the chair
dreams and hopes desperately hang on
the wind threatens to blow them away
Fragments of my memories lie here and there
a few unforgotten college days
some precious words dad had said
angry face of a long lost friend
Strewn all over are words
well intended but misunderstood
words written for a poem, left halfway
some earnest attempts, some fake
If I were to measure these pieces
Would there be more joy or despair
I really cannot say
But they make me what I am today.
