That Thin Line of Blue

That Thin Line Of Blue Running around driving that fast car the one with that imaginary V-8 chasing the crook from yard to yard, sirens wailing as loud as your voices can carry, yelling stop or I will shoot this being their first pursuit. Yes this is true, this is the way cop's walk on the right side of the blue. Beginning their day prim and prep with their gig lines straight and true. That's a straight line from hips to neck this means nothing to me and you, but to them it is a way to stay on the right side of the blue. With a gun on their hip, courage in their heart, and a soul with compassion to start. This is how they patrol our streets for what's not right and goes bump in the night. These are my brother's the ones that stand beside me in a fight. The ones that protect us from the wrongs and gives us the rights. Knowing the difference between right and wrong is bred, it's as true as blood is red and their uniforms are true blue. This is how they protect me and you. Just remember that guy in blue the one you disrespected and spit on his shoe is the one that will give his life for you. This is because they walk on the right side of that thin line of blue. So what ever they may be called police, cops, or hey you. You are my brother's the ones who serve and protect, the ones that walk on the right side and wear blue. I will always show my love and respect for you. By Rowdy Yates
