That Sunset View

A dry thirsty day quenched by the approaching night, Those leaves shed under the gale of a light wind, Nervous squirrels peeping through their green abode; Nature playing havoc on a depressed soul. That creeping thought of an unforgettable past; An over powering urge for the same mutual love. The brown crystalled eyes and a vague gentle form; Alas! all lost in the midst of a lashing tide. The pale sky and a deep red horizon, Slow encroaching darkness over the drowning sun, A shimmer of light from that stagnant pool; The last remains of a sunset view.
