That Summer Week

I met him a year ago
I didn't know what to do then
So I let him go
He lived down the street from me
I saw him every now and then
Until I didn't see him anymore
I thought about it for a while
Then forgot
Until one day when I saw him again
One year later
I then realized that I did love him
From the day I met him
We talked
He loved me too
He said he moved to Austin
He was visiting his mom
My heart broke
That meant he had to leave
She we spent every hour together that week
He looked better than I remember
Then Friday came
He had to leave
He told me he would come back
Maybe Thanksgiving, maybe Christmas
He never came
He hasn't come yet
I still look at his house to see if he's there
He's not
So I just think about that week
It was the best week of my life.
