That Mask
if you could only see
behind that mask
behind the smile that lies
if you could only go
a little deeper to see
behind her eyes
she hides from you
she hides the truth
she hides the evidence
so you have no proof
of her lack of what
you thought was there -
strength and hope
aren't behind
that mask she wears
