That Little Voice

Oh that little voice inside how often it has tried
To take me off my game in later feeling the shame
As little as it may be so many others would agree
It's affects are so grand if you do not make a stand

It badgers you constantly knowing that you can not flee
Repeatedly bullying you around til no peace can be found
And with his every shot forming yet another tender spot
To where you finally agree and his viewpoint you now see

Well he came around here the other day and I told him to just get away
For my mind has better things than the hatred that his voice brings
In fact I didn't even let him in back handing that annoying little grin
Then I told him of what he always seemed to miss, I told him about forgiveness

This little voice didn't understand at first but soon he started to thirst
He said he loved the feeling for it had helped him so much in dealing
I think he learned the lesson to ALWAYS look for God's blessing
Where now he sometimes even reminds me in saying hey, just let it be
