That Fleeting Instant

You happen through the moments of your life, Stepping from one worry to the next. You plod along seeking your solace From those who hurt the same as you. You turn from them Because they don’t really get you. And then suddenly, Something jolts you: A panorama of impossibly varied vernal green In the sudden sunny warmth; Or a kind word from someone who does Know just what you mean. You know for that fleeting instant That you’re actually okay; That you have a noble place Amongst the greens, the warmth, Everyone.
