That Day

That day was normal
Or so it seemed
As people said I love you
Gave kisses upon cheeks
All their loved ones
Scattered out their doors
There were jobs to go to
School lessons to be learned
Not a single person knew
The terror that lurked
Preying on a nation
Causing such hurt
In one brief second
The whole world stood still
You couldn't help but cry out
Even the hardest of hearts was made to feel
The evil that took us by complete surprise
Expected us to fall to their level
Never to rise
But like anyone ever bullied
We'll have the last swing
When we stand united
We will never be beat..

God bless America
We shall never forget
9/11/01.
