That Beautiful Pain

That beautiful pain
The one that lives in my heart
Born the minute you leave
It takes away my sleep
Ripping my dreams apart
That beautiful pain
The one that only I know
I can never share it
Not that I would if I could
No one would ever understand
They do not see you as I do
That beautiful pain
The one that only fades when you return
Would I live without it?
Could I live without it?
Not if it meant that I would never had met you
That beautiful pain
I would rather suffer
Dealing with the hurt
Rather than lose you
And give the pain to another.

Love the title, and I too have asked myself these same questions. I believe we all would just relive the happiness that person brought into our lives for love is pain.

When I was about 8 years old, my big sister asked me what I thought "passion" was. I told her it was "pain." I said this because we were studying the Passion Play about Christ's death in school. She told me passion is love, but it also brings pain. They go hand in hand. This is a very insightful poem, Robert! One of my favorites now. You have mail. Love, Carolyn
