That Amazing Bus
There sitting behind the wheel of that big yellow school bus
No one ever made a big deal or even raised any kind of fuss
As she drove along the road humming that same song everyday
It was the seed she sowed in getting these children on their way
Maybe you heard the song before the one called Amazing Grace
From the first time opening up the door till she emptied out the place
Subtlety humming this beautiful melody as along her route she went
To me it was just nice to see in knowing all the love that was meant
But then the A.C.L.U. came along for one such mother didn't agree
Saying that "you can't hum that song for it's very offensive to me"
They made a big federal case out of it where it soon reached a judge
He said, "now Miss, you need to quit", on others rights you can't trudge
That Monday morning soon came yet very little seemed to have changed
The song still seemed the same just that some notes were rearranged
See, she wrote a song about an "amazing bus,and how sweet was the sound"
And no one even raised a fuss "In never getting lost in being homeward bound"
