too true, the real gift is the family. it's hard when you don't have any and the holidays are spent with the families of your good friends. Sometimes friends are more family then your kin folk.lol I love family tho, it's cool when there is a gathering of generations. A gift from God. good piece.

Thank you Brooke. We actually spend Thanksgiving at home, just the two of us, and it is nice just to be two.

That's tradition for you! Although my late Mom used to change things up a bit; she'd have turkey, ham, and oyster casserole; occasionally adding another casserole each year. I recall us eating Thanksgiving dinner for weeks thereafter. A well done poem.

We children had our tonsils taken out one Thanksgivings Day - and I have never fully gotten over it.
