Thank You To the Darkness

My poem that inspired my painting. Thank you to the darkness By Michelle Morris 25/09/2021 Thank you to the darkness, For it reveals the brightest lights; It is the backdrop for the universe, Our inspiration to our highest flights. It helps heal us as we sleep, It helps us dream our bestest dreams; It helps us to see the magic of the stars above, And all the beauty of meteors streaming. It is the duality of the blessings, That we receive from the yin and the yang; Interconnected and complementary, It fuels our lives and balance. And in ourselves we have to find, The light to shine forth and free; For unless you can face your darkness, You'll never truly know your being. Thank you to the darkness, For the knowledge and the tests; For we are all our greatest teachers, And raise each other's souls with quests. © Michelle Morris, 2021
