Thank You For Coming

thank you for coming

death is unavoidable.
before this, it’s life then
taxes.
however those that can see
know death is imminent in
relationships.
like Pachino’s first win with
McConaughey in Two for the
Money, her mouthwatering
addiction is far worse than
her need for male attention.
we’ve died, I’ll never have
the woman who is proud to be
herself instead of the
caricature of a colored
female.
this alone is why she’ll be a
slave to her confusion until
death.
she loves me like she’s loved
the rest. she loves me
through her continued search
of how she could feel about
herself if I just gave her
what she needed.
I am neither her mother nor
her father.
she seeks what they denied
her. she’s never escaped.
I’ve heard, to have a female
who truly loves you is
everything.
woman after woman after
woman, no one has been proud
to be who they are but
instead, prouder of who they
want to be.

their love suffers, her love
suffers, my love suffers.
suffering is the bloodline of
the confused.
as they walk in and out of
her house, go in and out of
her phone and make her feel
like she’s one of them, her
disgusting flavor and choice
to deny me murders her
ability to think for herself.

death:
sentence the color choice
and free the lover inside.
