Thank You

Thank You

Thank you for allowing me to meet her
For every chance I get to speak to her 
Feels like breathing for the first time
Like Spring has finally come

Thank you for allowing me to converse with her
Every time I hear her voice my body reacts
It feels as though a cool blanket of mist has descended from the heavens 
To rest upon my skin, hugging my very soul

Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to get to know her
The more I do, the more my cheeks struggle to contain this uncontrollable smile
For all it wants to do is break free from these shackles 
Whose sole purpose is to retain some sort of visual dignity

Thank you for allowing me the chance to hear her laugh
The battle of my smile allows all around me 
To glimpse at my seeming insanity 
At my inexplicable tears of joy

But they don’t know that it is her 
Behind my insanity, behind this smile
Beneath these goose bumps, these tears
Inside my soul

Thank you for allowing me to be part of her life
To understand the depths of her love
My heart has never felt this full
My life has never felt this complete
