Thank You

I wrote this poem around 2000 and won in the 4th Prize category of the Christian Poetry Association Competition. My poem was published in their “Destiny: Anthology of Verse”. Thank You By Michelle Morris 2000 Thank You Lord for this lovely day, That You’re there for me, come what may. Thank You for Your guiding light, That shines for me each blessed night. Thank You for the home I have, Where I can hide, when things get bad. Thank You for my food and water, My devoted husband and my lovely daughter. Thank You for electricity, For my sanitation so necessary; Thank You for my good health, For opportunities to work towards wealth. Thank You for my education, A necessary gift for my blessed nation. Thank You for giving us Your love, Received in blessings from above. Thank You for the teachings of Your Son, Without Him we would all be none. Thank You for Adam and Eve, For creating us with the choice to believe. Thank You for the earth, our globe, Without its bounty we’d have no hope.
