He died on that cross at Calvary
There were many broken hearts
Who despised this harsh brutality
These would never be coerced
Into giving up their Lord and Master
The One who was born to bring love
Love that can’t be bought or sold
Love that can’t possibly be earned
Love that lives inside the one who knows…
Jesus as God’s one and only Son
~
The scriptures tell us that we’re saved
By grace, through faith that is alive
Faith that comes from the Lord above
A gift so divine we could never imagine…
Anything better than this man, Jesus
~
He was raised again on that third day
Making His followers feel joy unsurpassed
After the angels rolled that stone away
There were those who remained steadfast
They yearned to see this man who was free
Of the tomb where He had been lain
And discover the amazing grace, the love
The reassurance that they would be saved
From a prison of darkness and anguish
A defeat that comes from the enemy of heaven
~
The scriptures tell us that we’re saved
By grace, through faith that is alive
Faith that comes from the Lord above
A gift so divine we could never imagine…
Anything better than this man, Jesus
~
Thank God I’m saved – Thank God I’m free
Because of this Jesus who died for me
Thank God I’m saved – Thank God I’m free
Because of this Jesus who died for me
