Thai Reflections

The green tea in its blue and white porcelain tea cup is full of sunlight. The dark eyed fortune teller’s delicate hands pass over the small cup - swans skimming low above a green pond. “She will love you forever” she says, one pearlescent nail tracing my life in the tea leaves. Then: “but you will never meet her.”
