Tethered To The Moment
I recall the moment I first saw you,
and how my heart was pounding in my chest.
For in that magical moment, I knew
that you were different from all the rest;
the instant my smile got you to smile, too.
Time stopped: locking that moment forever,
in the memory of my heart and soul.
There's no doubt in my mind whatsoever,
that I was broken, and you made me whole;
a bond that even death cannot sever.
Love was tethered to that moment in time,
the epitome of a happy thought.
You gave me your heart, and I gave you mine,
while doubt was replaced by the hope love brought,
and even belated hope felt sublime.
Recalling that moment: reality
and fantasy intertwine in my mind.
And I liken our first meeting to be
like regaining sight after being blind:
suddenly, I realized I could see./center>
