Terrorist Sandwich

terrorist sandwich
elevator smash

silent stranger talk
no eye contact

no touching
elevator stops with a jerk,

we are all stuck
I-phones do not get signals.

efforts to be human kick in
after the initial shock

silence resumed
humanity strained

elevator etiquette
promotes apathy and ignoring
each other

pretending we are un-humans
terrorist sandwich

Disturbingly true. Phones, pads, tablets, games...they all contribute to the problem. When we finally cease all communication, I shudder to think of what will happen.

I wish some days that all electronic devises would go down for a week, just to see if we could figure out a way to communicate with each other without them. Just for a week. Seven little days. Then I want them back up.
