Terraformer of the Poemniverse - a Poet's Worth
eye crash-landed on an alien world
where the air we breathe is a written word
our thoughts are rhyme and metaphor
our lives ruled by a poetic répétiteur
in this world of dreams - imagination lives
all that is unique, bizarre and estranged thrives
a cup o’ soup brewed to welcome any stranger
into their new life as a terraformer
to explore the poemniverse without fear or favour
the stars to dissect by mere pen and paper
a broken heart to splice with a romantic lyric
the mind to awe, twist and place on a new axis
as inhabitants of this world our duty is artistry
the love of knowledge, literature and poetry
as responsible citizens we must protect our right,
to freedom of speech – and to write!
