Terms of Engagement
Rancorous bile spits from the screen like a dragon’s bad breath
Venom and distasteful acrimony captures an innocent monitor
An irritating display of malicious vitriol exposes malevolence
Vindictive malevolence achieves to exhibit a self-righteous tongue
My middle finger hovers over the respond key
Why on earth would anyone part with such hurtful conviction
Forfeit composure and respect for a well-mannered discussion
What is wrong with remaining critical but courteous with words
Instead of venting frustration with-polished and decorous tact
The hand approaches delete but the mind refuses
Does such bastardly wrath deserve the privilege of an answer
Is the spiteful composer of evil intentions worthy of a reply
Can rightful reproach warrant retribution in poignant return
What is the point of engaging with a chalice of angry lines
Thank you for unrestrained honesty
Cantankerous behaviour calls for consequences no doubt at all
But my world is too precious for gracing you with disagreement
As I reflect on why I should be the target of unmitigated rage
I refuse to incorporate exasperation and resentful indignation
Block sender and remove contamination
