Terminal Frost

Everything revolves around Nothing
Absolute Inconclusion
I am Cold and I am Rejected
Not Once… But Every time I hurl my love on an Unsuspecting Soul,
it seems that they are not Aware… not Ready
This Cold expands from the tips of my fingers,
to every Sliver of Nerve left in my Trembling Flesh
I become Aware that this Chill generates not from the air around me,
but from the Last Breath on my lips
I feel my eyes heavily close and then open again,
as if a few seconds of Blindness would reveal any Change
While my Soul is not untainted, my Heart is pure
But it's Silence only highlights the Frost in my bones
Like a child Punished my love retracts itself into the Ice
Not Afraid… just not Willing
So Much was here
So Warm
Now encased forever in this Terminal Frost

Very imaginative and beautifully crafted. This is fantastic Chris. The imagery is quite stunning, the emotions are elevated by the stark landscape and icy temperatures. Such a cool dichotomy. I always enjoy reading you, past and present:) Wonderful writing xo

Thanks Lynn, you are always so wonderfully encouraging :) Just the way I felt as a young "scorned" woman who I will confess is a big fan of Pink Floyd. Have great day :)

Great writing, Chris. Very creative. I am given to thoughts of the princess in the movie Frozen!

Always enjoy your visits Andrea :)...This was written long before Frozen, but I guess it could be related to that character...though I have no frozen "powers" haha! Have great day :)

Undoubtedly this terminal frost from past years has passed its sell-by date, Chris, and you're now reaping the fruit of your warm heart and untainted soul:) Regards // paul
