I’ve developed tennis elbow; it really is quite sore It’s a medical condition that I’ve never had before So I went down to the doctor and knocked upon his door It’s a common ailment, he’s seen it many times I’m sure He wrote me a prescription; oh boy he’s really funny Told me to watch the Olympics – not pretend I’m Andy Murray! I’ve got some painkilling gel, which really does seem to help And a tubigrip bandage, so constrictive it made me yelp I struggled to get this ‘tube’ on but it restricted the flow of blood So I’ve ditched it in the bin - it was causing more harm than good Now I’ve put on an old crepe bandage, which seems to do the trick I’ve now come to the sad conclusion… I’m becoming a geriatric! 08~16~16

It's damned painful but I got a poem out of it lol :-( I will come clean .. the Andy Murray line is pure poetic licence but it was perfect with the title:-) hugs Jan xx

Never played tennis, Jan, and have no desire to! No sore bones so far, though arthritis is slowly creeping into my hands and feet. Loved your poem on the subject. Nice flow and good rhymes. You get better and better. Always a pleasure to read you. / M

Yours should be called 'badminton elbow' as I know you are a very accomplished player Paul - mine should simply be 'poet's poorly paw' lol:-) although it could be caused by weeding in the garden:-( love to all the family:-) hugs jan xx

Jan: This poem is well written and funny as I have grown to expect. My comment is more about your 1st place notice I received today. I know you were very supportive of me as I've struggled to continue with my scribbles. Congratulations to you, it is well deserved. oldbuck

I like your rhyme. I've never had tennis elbow but it doesn't sound like something I'd enjoy. Keep writing Jan and I'll keep reading. Tom

I can sympathize with you, Jan. I've had tennis elbow and it is painful. The funny thing was I didn't play tennis but my husband did. I enjoyed your humorous poem. Hope your arm heals quickly. Blessings!
