Tennebratum

on the uneven slope that surrounds the immense hole where the living fire crackles, there is a kind of pretty steep trail, in it you see dry bushes, burned and twisted with huge thorns at their ends, bordering the small passage created over thousands of years by the feet of those who began their penance and of those who tried to escape damnation. every body that plummets screaming into the void, makes more flames spurt out of the boiler hole and the terrified eyes of those who try to escape, find the afflicted countenance of those who never cease to arrive. it's under a sinful sky that heat cooks fabrics and causes the blood to boil in the veins, the inevitable vertigo and finally the horrifying fall in the fictitious abyss where they will burn those who believed in the engineering of lies and they didn't realize the abysmal incongruity of hell as the devil's habitat, where its main function it is precisely to punish evil who always promoted.

The awfulness of human sacrifice. Reminding me of Dante. The "horrifying fall" of those who were pitched headlong into the abyss by ignorant pagans? Not so incongruous with "the devil's habitat," I would think. A very dark, deep piece of writing, Marco.

it is one of the circles of Dante's hell, where liars burn. the images are necessarily harsh and distressing, of course. in the end, there is a question: why is the devil's job to punish the evil he sows?
