Tender Years
In early years I depended on you
You were big and strong my only hero
In my tender eyes you knew what to do
When it comes to life, we start at zero
Gaining more each day, I learned how to walk
You were big and stong my only hero
As time would go on, I would hear you talk
They were painful words that you gave to me
Gaining more each day, I learned how to walk
I could not imagine things I would see
The World you gave me was devoid of sun
They were painful words that you gave to me
Eventually I would learn how to run
I was never meant to live like a slave
The World you gave me was devoid of sun
God is my hero, I've learned to be brave
I was never meant to live like a slave
In my early years, I depended on you
In my tender eyes you knew what to do
