Tender Heart

Like the crack and hatch of a new chick
So tender and innocent
Like the new bloom so early in the morning
Pure and beautiful

Last night took with it the ills of yesterday
Like a basket it holds no grudge or fault
The awakening droplets keep it still fresh
as blank as a slate never a trace of the previous
So helpless it never marked your face
