Ten Years

(:) (:) (: ) (:)

Mommie, what did you think when I was born
Thought you most stunning sight eyes could adore
To think you were mine was beyond belief
Knowing you were healthy was sweet relief
(:)

Mommie, what was I like when I was one
Your beauty and laugh could light up the sun
Your baby smells so rich and intoxicating
Snuggled on my shoulder, I'm in Heaven
your mere existence exhilarating
(:)

Mommie, could I talk very well when I was two
You blew kisses and played peek a boo
You chattered up a storm that is for sure
And bounced and danced all over the floor
(:)

Mommie, did I play when I was three
Hide and seek under bed or behind tree
Swimsuit all summer playing in stones and dirt
Us watching for dangers that could cause hurt
(:)

Mommie, what did I eat when I was four
Tomato soup and toasted cheese galore
Fish sticks and tater tots with ketchup
All thought was pretty yummy match up
(:)

Mommie, did I have pets when I was five
Two little gerbils somehow kept alive
Several kitties with various names
All treasured some with pictures in frames
(:)

Mommie, was I smart when I was six
Coloring books and crayons in the mix
Flash cards and wide spaced writing books
Your brain gleaming in every nook
(:)

Mommie, did I have friends when I was seven
Your sister your glorious gift from Heaven
And many others from school and dance
You gave everyone in life a chance
 (:)

Mommie, was I creative when I was eight
Lite Bright, yarn, beads and paper plates
Etch A Sketch and Play Doh creations
And yummy cookie cut out creations
(:)

Mommie, was I afraid when I was nine
At bedtime you sometimes wailed and whined
But Daddy would put all your fears to rest
To this effectiveness I can attest
(:)

Mommie, did I show love when I was ten
Hugs and kisses galore, just say when
Sweet actions meant more than words
Drawings of red hearts and yellow birds
Wildflowers plucked from yards and fields
Cinnamon toast and apple slices peeled
(:)

How did all these beloved years flash by
As if in the wink or blink of an eye
Those years pleasures and treasures
we review
because
 (:) (:) (:)

                   LOVE LOVE LOVE YOU !!

                              (:) (:)
