Ten Years

Ten years to go he told me so
But that was last May wasn't it

Though my heart still beats all the while
Still, the blood rushes up from down below

And I get sweaty and can not speak as though
It were yesterday he touched me so sweet
I felt safe and secure with him like inside a womb

I watched for him over long days on end
Though I could not see for the earth did not move

I thought I saw a glimpse of him
Moving towards me

But that was ten years ago
They told me so

This is my favorite from the poems of yours I have browsed so far. I liked how you handled time and showed how it plays with us and those things that are timeless.

WEnt way back to see this one and it really has me curious to know the subject of this poem and if anything ever came of this person? About Cinder Girl. You asked me if it won anything ? That is a thrilling story for me. When I first came here in 2010, they were still having the International contests every four months or so. It was my FIRST year here and Cinder Girl WON!!! I was beyond words. Thanks for reading that poem of mine. Luv, Andrea
