We the People must care more when we cast our votes; but we must cast them. It is our duty. We are supposed to be represented by those in government, not ruled by them.
Ten Ten Twenty Twenty Politics
By Franklin Price
10/10/2020
The date is ten ten twenty-twenty
A few days left to raise the money
To fill the seats in Washington
To watch the races is not fun
It's not about the one who's best
To fill each seat for every test
But who can take opponents down
By spreading filth and mud around
The monies raised could save the sick
Instead it funds some party's pick
It puts some owing one in place
That's how it's done; a big disgrace
Truth and facts are often damned
Our Media accounts are spammed
With how bad opponents are
We wonder how they got this far
The White House worst, and who is in it
Then close behind, the House and Senate
For We the People, not much chance,
To be invited to the dance
Incumbent records tell no lies
Of who to praise, and who despise
Research the rookie ones also
To tell which way that you should go
If you only listen to
The campaign ads that come at you
And make your choice by what they say
Again you'll get, what's here today
A Washington that doesn't care
Where power rules and isn't fair
Where left and right don't cross the line
As for myself, that isn't fine
Not matter what, please cast your vote.
If your choice wins, then you may gloat
We're in it, only, for the ride
If we only vote for those inside
