Beggers used to beg ten cents
For a cup of coffee now five dollars instead
World's out of whack
Sanity we lack
Life has basically screwed with our heads

I recall paying 10-cents for a glass of water in Las Vegas back in 1947 and was truly shocked when I returned to the USA in the 80s and learned the price of a cup of coffee that was more water than coffee! In the 40s, most kids had a tunafish sandwich for lunch, but today a tin of tuna is more water than fish, so I shall be happy to leave this modern world behind! Aloha! Rico

So you go back to those good old days too!!! LOL That used to be a common statement back then eh! "He couldn't even afford 10 cents for a cup or coffee!" But I still will be sad to leave this outrageous unhappy world! Cheers Happy Jack!!!

those were the days as kids....five and ten cent coffee or coke...fifteen cents for an actual "real" milkshake made at a local dairy ice cream bar...then a few years later....seventeen cents for a basic macdonalds burger.....well, as long as a country owns it's 'own' national debt there's not too much to worry about...…stan sand
