Tempted

Daydreams, schemes, melancholy dreams
A fairytale resurrected
Not by the hour but daily
A new god come erected

Wondering if it was true
Felt it was too good to be
That this handsome rogue
Would be in love with me

His eyelashes fluttered
His speech became sputtered
His color heightened
Whenever we enlightened

Upon some topic somewhere
My pride was assured
He was my beau if I cared, 
At the last moment, I demured
