Temptation
At first there's little wrong as it's just sort of innocent
Something for which you long but iit just wasn't meant
But as it lingers it begins gaining more and more control
Like glue stuck to your fingers it begins to take it's toll
It's calls you everyday and reminds you what could've been
Trampling over what you say in leading you to sin
Showing you only the best what could of all been yours
So with your time you invest biting on such colorful lures
And as you go deeper and deeper losing more and more control
The sides start to become steeper as you solidify your role
Soon there is no exit only the path you've been directed down
As now you're ready to quit and hand over your heavenly crown
Laughing in your face as he snatches it from your head
Thinking he stole all your grace, the reason why Jesus bled
But little does he know the Father's great love for you
Even mired in the depths below His love is forever true
For each time that we fall the Lord will help us stand
For each time He will call and He will reach out Hiis Hand
He has covered that cost all done through His Son's Name
Jesus, a beacon for the Lost, who washes away that shame
1 Corinthians 10:13
13 No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.
