Temples of Kemet

In these desert lands, there are these ancient sites. I've come to meet with the powerful ones. the ones who will guide me. In this antique city, where the granite pillars stand. walls are carved with age-old stories, remnants of color are still preserved. Where I come to speak to the gods. Near the Nile, I wander in the massive halls. observe the paintings of my ancestors, reading the ancient texts. arms raised out as I walk through, calling out for their wise help. Dressed for the secret ceremony, in a blue robe trailed behind me, hair wrapped in a golden headwrap. decorated in golden trinkets, sandals sweeping in the loose sand. Ra's light radiates upon my melanin flesh. I collapse at the altar, surrender myself. incense burn, smoke rise, the scent of myrrh. head down, whispering in prayer in the old language. displaying my respect for them. I've come to seek knowledge, for them to give me wisdom. In this grand chamber, the blessings I've come to receive, for they seek my attention, for they deserve my want. I have come to show them gratitude. I have come to offer my love.
