Notes About The Poem

dedicated to Rahaf Mohammed, who escaped the horrors of Saudi Arabia, and was granted refuge in Canada. Is sad that old men claiming God and religion preach, while subjecting humans, even their own families to such brutality,

Very telling
truth buried in lies
hate disguised as love
weeds strangling flowers
corrupt gardeners
singing the devils last song
virgins bloom all white

Hi Arthur, Many a war or battle have been fought in the name of God - the era of the Crusades comes to mind when rape, pilferage and atrocities were the order of the day and fought in the name of Christianity. No good can ever come from corrupt gardeners, and no thing or person can grow in the shade of evil. A brilliant poem - brilliantly penned Arthur. Poetry wishes, Jennifer.

Hi Arthur, strong content with a strong message in this excellent write. Sometimes, I can't believe that this is the 21st century. The way people are treated. How can people of religion act this way? How can the flowers grow within such gardens? Excellent work Arthur. have a wonderful Monday. Hugs....Mike. XX

Arthur, I used to think Saudi Arabia was a friendly nation until Jamal Khashoggi was executed. It's difficult for some of us to understand the goings on in this country. And it didn't help having a president who sided with the Saudi prince. Your poignant poem correctly identifies the "corrupt gardeners," Arthur. A powerful message!

Well written Arthur, there are many evil people hiding behind the veil of religion and carrying out atrocities in their gods name. We don't get to hear half of what goes on in some countries. Tom
