Tell Them
TELL THEM
Tell them that I love them
Just the way they are
To the poor and filthy I came
To bring hope, a new start and care
I came to condemn them not
But to show them that I care a lot
Tell them they are precious in my eyes
And I will cause them to rise
Above that which is pressing them down
I was laid on my head a thorny crown
And the spear pierced my side
For them I paid the ultimate price
Tell them I died for their sake
I suffered the beatings and endured the pain
I was nailed to the cross
For their gain I became a loss
That excruciating pain was not in vain
All that I am and all that I have to them I gave
Tell them I became poor so they can be rich
And to the broken, the hurting and the sick
I came to be the healing balm
And also to command their storms to calm
I came to save those that are lost
And to elevate them from the dust
Tell them that I love them
That I had them in mind
Before I laid the foundations of the earth
And that I’ll make them forever mine
If they take a step to a second birth
Tell them that I love them
