Tell Me What I Like

Tell Me What I Like I see it all around me Pain and sadness in their eyes My heart screaming for forgiveness Extreme emotions make me cry Guilt builds up inside me Feelings rule my day If you don’t see from my perspective I’m offended by what you say I search for my own answers It feels so good deep inside Screaming my position Filling up inside with pride Tell me what I want to hear Confirm me being right Tell me what I want to hear Tell me what I like Yea, tell me what I like Don’t confuse me with the numbers Don’t blind me with the truth I just need some confirmation It’s too damn hard to find the proof Content with my opinion Satisfied with my own truth I just need some validation I feel so good from my own view I search for my own answers It feels so good deep inside Screaming my position Filling up inside with pride Tell me what I want to hear Confirm me being right Tell me what I want to hear Tell me what I like Yea, tell me what I like

Kelly.. I enjoyed reading your introspective poem this morning. I especially liked how it made me pause and think!

Thank you. I believe the most serious issue we are facing today is confirmation bias. Social media provides a platform to stroke the flames of personal opinions, which leads to social disruption. We've reach a new high of feelings being more important than facts. I hope we can survive. Thanks for your comment!
