Tell It Like It Is

I understand that these promises are not being shared wisely.

It feels like each promise can be split…

And then split again.

Until there is an unraveling.

Until there are so many receivers that they no longer feel special.

Just confused.

I was innocent before this started.

But now there is a fear that I am betraying everyone.

As my mind swells with all the people that I gave hope to.

And just as quickly let down.

There is no crowd of people chasing after me.

There is no aftermath.

Only a loss of patience.

And a gentle breeze filled with disappointment.
