Tell It Like It Is
Each day with its assailants,
Each dawn's door I open I see them stand in wait,
Each day I go through I wrestle with the unseen,
As the sun takes its rises my challenges awake.
I ask if I was born for these and to see these,
I sit with myself and ask questions,
I retreat into my chamber and seek answers,
For I know someone holds the key to mystery doors.
I sail through ferocious seas,
The waves beat vehemently on my vessel,
I journey on uneven stony meandering roads,
My feet are bruised and my strength is ebbing away.
Beyond the surface are turbulent waters,
Beyond the exterior is a seething cauldron,
I walk through a stretched midnight,
I bear a load that's recalcitrant to shed off its tons.
Someone wants to share my space with me,
I'd say don’t open my door it’s mystifying,
Someone wants to take my hands,
I'd say my world is a mammoth puzzle.
I'll empty my thoughts in lines and stanzas,
I'll pour out my pains in memoirs and think articles,
I'll seek relief in nature's embrace,
I'll seek light in my cocooned midnight.
