Teenagers!
The anger now is surfacing
No more can I contain
For everything he says and does
It now just causes pain
The audacity, to talk to her
His mother, like a friend
I have to punish, but first calm
Or else, it’d be his end
No 14 year old should have the nerve
To his mother, say a curse
I feel like beating, yes I do
But will that make it worse?
She does so much and so do I
But we feel like there’s no respect
I’m going to teach, but just how?
For our home, he’s starting to wreck
When I get home, I’ll plead and talk
I’ll loudly make a case
And if it doesn’t go too well
I’ll probably slap his face
If that doesn’t work, it’ll get rough
I may reach for my belt
It’s a lot easier then to hit his butt
So my hands don’t get a welt
I’ll win this game, though not a game
As he thinks he made the rules
But he’ll get his, oh yes he will
For his parents aren’t fools
