Teen Town Dance - Dwm

We were paired up by Teen Town
A TV show from Des Moines
Nancy and Ed were there, our idols

They had us all line up.
No one thought about height.
They lined the boys on one side
The girls on the other

I was in seventh grade.
My sister got a nice short guy
I got the tallest boy ever born
Worst time ever

I was staring at his belt buckle
Frankly I do not know
Which one of us
Was the most horrified

Congratulations on your win in this contest. We can both dance in celebration with our trophies! I won, too. My very first trophy. And how about some sparkling cider,Caren, Hugs, Panagiota xx

Yay! Your first one! Wow! I am surprised at that! I will celebrate with prune juice; I have no cider.

True story? Was humorous in its tender remembrance! Congratulations, Caren!

Thank you Kim. This was a fabrication in no way.

Best wishes, Caren.. I was thinking of Soul Train when I read your poem. Dances are learning events for us all. Sometimes nice...many times felt sillyL Panagiota xx

It was like that - but more local, from Des Moines, Iowa - a local tv show just sixty miles north of my home town.
