Tears On the Wind
Tears on the Wind
I have shed tears.
Tears that never fell,
snatched by angels
lest they dry without
acknowledgement.
I have wept, sobbed
as tears cascaded,
a river of hope
to douse the fire of
disillusionment.
I have cursed
hate’s acid tears.
Railed against the
gods and demons
incoherently
I grew weary
of the tears
shed alone
in nameless, shapeless
dark places.
I have shed tears.
Tears on the wind,
free, unremorseful,
unrepentant
Tears on the wind.
