Tears

Tesrs, the saline laden water of the spirits.
They show a multitude of emotions.
Silently slipping down the cheek
of a stoic soldier who lost his best friend.
Tears of sadness for the loss of a loved one,
or after a great defeat.
Tears of joy holding your newborn
for the first time
or after a bittersweet victory.
Some come for no reason at all.
Some accompany allergies and illness.
Tears can be a universal form of communication.
They are what makes us human.
