Tears

When he proposed, I shed some tears.
It was the happiest day of my life.
A short time later, more tears were shed
When I became his wife.

In the following years most tears I cried
Were over such happy things,
The birth of children, then a grandson,
They were the tears that happiness brings.

But then the tears I cried were sad.
His feeling for me had died.
Many, many new tears I shed
And almost daily, it seems, I cried.

When we parted we both wept tears,
His were from guilt and sadness.
Mine were with such profound grief
It nearly bordered on madness.

And now the happy times in my life
Can make a tear start to fall.
The sad ones are so far in the past now
I rarely think of them at all.

The next page in the book of your life apparently had happy printing on it. You have described your life episodes with your usually great descriptiveness and rhyming.

This is really nice... I love how you wrote that your grief was "bordering on madness," because that is exactly how it feels to go through something like that. I am so glad that you are happy now, you must be a very strong person :) -Katie

Francine I am so happy for you. Happy that you have gone past that hurtful time in your life and now there is happiness that calms the hurting tears. Blessings on you and your family this joyous season and may the reason for the season be paramount in our hearts. Joy (Jew)
